On September 21st the GE Kiwanis Club had the pleasure of having Jesse Oxford, author of Here For Good. The presentation and following discussion posed the question, "what is your organization going to look like in the future". Not in the 'future' we all use for forecasting but the FUTURE like 100 years forward. Why 100 years? Because this is the number that actuaries and statisticians universally use for three generations. How would you plan for inevitable changes so your organization will still be there in 2126.

This installation is a joint effort of Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn IL, GE Park District and Glen Ellyn Public Library.

This is the second post entitled 'who are Kiwanis' Besides helping local kids we also try to find speakers who can add color or fill in the blanks regarding our local community. We have entertained speakers covering such topics as.

Over the next few posts I will attempt to answer a question that I am often asked. "just what is Kiwanis?" I will largely answer this pictorially due to the breadth of our efforts. This first set is called 'Volunteerism' and is framed around our efforts to work in concert with Glen House Food Pantry and bringing a bit of joy to those who may not see sufficient food for the week. Sometimes we may need to postpone our own meals to make 104 kids a bit happier.😀 ... See MoreSee Less
